PepsiCo has entered into a multi-year strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to advance its digital transformation agenda, leveraging the cloud provider’s extensive capabilities in infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and analytics.
This partnership marks a significant step in the global consumer packaged goods (CPG) leader’s commitment to operational modernization and technological innovation across its enterprise.
The initiative spans PepsiCo’s global operations and is aimed at enhancing agility, scalability, and intelligence across the organization. The collaboration includes IT modernization, application migration to AWS, and the development of generative AI applications through PepsiCo’s proprietary platform, PepGenX, integrated with AWS’s Amazon Bedrock service. This integration allows PepsiCo developers to access a wide array of foundational models and agent-based AI functionalities to support a variety of enterprise use cases.
Athina Kanioura, PepsiCo’s Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, emphasized the central role of the cloud in the company’s innovation efforts, stating that a “cloud-first approach has been essential to PepsiCo’s ongoing digital transformation.” She noted that the partnership with AWS will deepen the company’s ability to deliver business outcomes faster and more intelligently.
Cloud-Based Digital Supply Chain Solutions
One area of strategic focus is enhancing PepsiCo’s customer engagement. Through AWS technologies, PepsiCo is aiming to refine real-time audience segmentation, deliver hyper-personalized marketing campaigns, and improve content performance tracking. The collaboration also enables targeted outreach to Amazon audiences and consumers, leveraging AWS’s analytics and marketing tools.
Operationally, the companies are jointly exploring how cloud-based digital supply chain solutions can improve efficiency and resilience across PepsiCo’s manufacturing and distribution infrastructure. Use cases include predictive maintenance capabilities and improved visibility into global logistics, which could lead to reduced downtime and more reliable product delivery.
AWS CEO Matt Garman highlighted the need for constant innovation in the CPG sector, praising PepsiCo’s efforts to integrate cloud and AI technologies. “PepsiCo is utilizing cloud services and artificial intelligence to streamline supply chains, create new operational capabilities, and provide more individualized customer experiences with AWS,” he stated, underscoring AWS’s role in helping PepsiCo serve billions of customers worldwide.
This collaboration would reflect a broader trend in enterprise IT strategy, where global companies increasingly view cloud and AI integration not just as operational tools, but as key enablers of competitive advantage and customer-centric innovation.
