The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has announced a strategic partnership with INDATEL, a nationwide U.S. network composed of over 900 regional and rural broadband providers. The agreement is aimed at expanding access to affordable, high-performance peering and interconnection services across underserved areas in the United States, marking a significant move in LINX’s broader mission to democratize internet connectivity.

The collaboration centers around LINX NoVA, the organization’s neutral Internet Exchange Point (IXP) based in Northern Virginia – often referred to as the data center capital of the U.S. Through five major data center access points in the region, LINX NoVA allows networks to interconnect via a single cross-connect, providing direct, low-latency access to global content, cloud services, and critical infrastructure. This setup supports improved network performance and architectural flexibility, especially beneficial to smaller ISPs serving rural communities.

Indatel - Shiloh Vance“As a reliable supplier affiliate partner, we are delighted to have LINX join the INDATEL family,” said Shiloh Vance, Director of Marketing at INDATEL Services.“Becoming an affiliate of INDATEL is an exciting step that reinforces our shared goal of enabling robust connectivity in rural America,” said Inga Turner, Head of Existing Business at LINX and Champion for LINX NoVA. “We’re committed to empowering regional broadband networks by opening the door to cost-effective, direct access to global internet infrastructure.”

INDATEL, which connects rural carriers across 47 states, sees the partnership as a vital investment in the future of broadband expansion. “As a reliable supplier affiliate partner, we are delighted to have LINX join the INDATEL family,” said Shiloh Vance, Director of Marketing at INDATEL Services. “This collaboration enhances our ability to support rural and regional providers by giving them better access to cloud platforms, content providers, and key global networks.”

Bypassing Traditional Transit Routes

One of the core advantages of this partnership is the ability for networks to bypass traditional transit routes by peering directly at LINX NoVA. This can significantly reduce latency, lower transport costs, and improve overall service quality – key considerations for regional providers aiming to meet rising customer expectations without incurring urban-scale infrastructure expenses.

The agreement builds on recent momentum at LINX NoVA, which experienced a fourfold increase in traffic last year following several infrastructure upgrades and the onboarding of new global networks. This surge in usage underscores the platform’s ability to scale, not only to meet current traffic demands but also to accommodate future growth.

With its neutral, member-owned structure and flexible interconnection model, LINX NoVA positions itself as a future-ready solution. The partnership with INDATEL brings this model directly into the hands of rural broadband providers, offering a new pathway toward stronger, more resilient internet access across underserved parts of the U.S.
