G42, a United Arab Emirates-based company specializing in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, has announced the launch of G42 Europe & UK, a new London-based subsidiary aimed at accelerating AI infrastructure and adoption across the UK and continental Europe. The move signals the company’s growing ambitions in the European market, following recent expansion initiatives that include data center and compute cluster developments in France and Italy.
The newly formed entity will focus on delivering AI-powered solutions tailored to the commercial sector, while also collaborating with government and public institutions to support the growth of sovereign AI capabilities in the region. By establishing a dedicated presence in London, G42 aims to offer region-specific expertise, regulatory alignment, and advanced technology deployment in sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and financial services.
G42 Europe & UK will be jointly led by two senior executives. Omar Mir, who brings more than two decades of experience in the global IT and telecom sectors and currently serves on the International Board of World Wide Technology, will act as co-chair. His background includes spearheading large-scale digital transformation projects in the UK, Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East, particularly in 5G, cloud, edge computing, and AI services.
Joining him as co-chair is Marty Edelman, G42’s Group General Counsel, who oversees the company’s global legal and compliance strategy. Edelman has also played a key role in shaping G42’s international governance framework during its ongoing global expansion.
In a joint statement, Mir and Edelman emphasized the strategic importance of the new hub. “Our goal is to harness G42’s proven AI expertise and localize it for European and UK businesses – fueling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and building resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure,” said Mir. Edelman added that the London base enables G42 to strengthen its regulatory insight and better serve clients with world-class AI solutions adapted to local needs.
G42 Europe & UK will leverage the parent company’s robust supercomputing and data infrastructure to deliver full-spectrum AI services, from advisory and model development to infrastructure deployment and managed services. The initiative is also designed to support data-sovereignty efforts, with G42 pledging close cooperation with regional and national organizations to ensure compliant and secure AI adoption.
